How to Make a Semi Home Made Cherry Pie
How to make a semi made Cherry Pie is easy and fun but first let me define what I mean by Semi home made : It is simply when you use some store bought things in your pie. Now let's get started.
The first thing we need is :
- one can of cherry pie filling (a 16 ounce can is best )( I prefer libby's)
- cups of flower ( self rising is best)
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons of oil (Crisco is best I find)
- a fork
- A three quart one is best
- A rolling pin
- a pie pan (9 inch is best)
- and a place to work ( usually it is a counter or a table)
Now here is what you do :first you put the flower in the bowl and take your fork and make a little hole in the center then take the water and the oil and mix them together with the fork this to cream them together. Then once you have finished that you pour about a quarter of it in the hole and you mix it into the flour as it mixes together it gets a little dark in color use add a little at a time until it is all mixed together then take a handful of flour and sprinkle it on your surface area that you will be using to put some flour on your rolling pin, then take some of your flour mixture about half and put it on the floured surface and roll out the thought about 1/8 of an inch thick making sure that the mixture doesn't stick to the surface and or your pin.
When that is done grease up and flour your pan and then put the pie dough that you rolled out in the pan the easiest way is to use your rolling pin and roll the dough on it then place it on the pan and unroll it let the doughball into the pan and take the shape of the piepan keeping in mind that you need a little if the dough to fall on the edges on the pan to seal the crust together then take the other half of the dough rolled out then open the can of cherry pie filling and add it to your pie then take the last of your dough and add it on top of the pie use a little water to seal the crusts together then take you pointer finger and your thumb and crimp them together by pressing your pointer and your thumb together take a knife or use your fork to poke holes in the top bake in a 350 degree oven for about 30-45minuts let it cool then eat.
